OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Supporting the things that matter most
Short stays designed to provide participants with a safe and supportive
environment, while also giving families and carers the chance to recharge.
Whether it’s building everyday living skills, prescribing assistive technology, or helping families navigate complex care needs, our allied health team is here to support the journey, at whatever pace works for you.
How we help you
enjoy the everyday
- Assess functional needs: understanding daily challenges and strengths
- Build everyday skills: supporting independence in personal care, cooking, transport, and community access
- Prescribe assistive technology (AT): from simple equipment to complex solutions, we make sure you have the right tools for your needs
- Environmental modifications: recommending home modifications such as ramps, bathroom changes, or accessible layouts
- Complex care support: assisting with specialised needs such as pressure care, manual handling, and planning for high-intensity support environments
How we help you
make new things possible
- Capacity building: focusing on long-term independence and goal achievement
- Holistic care: we work closely with other allied health professionals to make sure you receive the right mix of support, delivered in the right way
- Practical approach: we focus on outcomes that matter to you, whether that’s getting dressed independently, using new equipment, or engaging in the community with confidence
Who is this for?

Real voices, real journeys
We don’t just make lofty promises. We deliver on what we say we’ll do for real people, every single day. Hear from a few individuals we’re proud to have helped.
“I have been involved with SHCS for few years now and your are my GO TO provider.
This is because of you proven commitment to nurture and grow relationships and
networks whilst providing a person centred and person led support especially showing
understanding and flexibility towards the dynamics of the NDIS environment.
I could not fault your work.
Your dedicated management has taken the steps to educate and support their staff –
specifically when staff changes occur and therefore, contact and communication
continues to be transparent, smooth and undisrupted.
Of course, a shout out to all the on the ground workers for great support provision”

“I’ve been receiving support from Sydney Health & Care Services for approximately six years. The team showed great sensitivity in matching me with a support worker whose background, interests, and outlook closely align with my own, providing the highest level of support I could hope for.
The SHCS administration is approachable and consistently accommodates my needs for flexible support scheduling. They continue to be a pleasure to work with, and I am very grateful for their ongoing care.”

After experiencing a prolonged period of significant physical and mental distress, during which I was often alone, managing everything independently, and left with severe injuries, I was uncertain about where my life was heading. It was during this extremely difficult time that Sydney Health & Care Services and Flourish came together to develop a coordinated support plan to help me navigate my recovery.
Through their collaboration, I was supported to attend all medical appointments and was provided with the care, reassurance, and comfort I needed as I gradually began to re-engage with the outside world.
To anyone who may be struggling and unsure where to begin, I strongly encourage you to reach out and allow yourself to be supported. I delayed seeking help for far too long, and I now understand the importance of accepting assistance when it is needed.
I would not hesitate to recommend Sydney Health & Care. Their unwavering support played an invaluable role throughout my healing journey, and I am deeply grateful for everything SHCS has done for me and continues to do on an ongoing basis. Knowing that they are there allows me to live with confidence and reassurance. Thank you sincerely for your continued care and support.”

“I commenced support with SHCS in 2020, initially receiving assistance twice a week for five hours per day. I now receive support twice daily, totalling five hours. Since beginning with SHCS, my experiences have been consistently positive. With their support, I have been able to travel throughout the South Coast and explore the Illawarra—opportunities I would not have been able to access without SHCS. Additionally, the support I receive assists me with all aspects of meal preparation and management, which I would not be able to manage independently.
In 2022, I experienced a particularly challenging period, and SHCS provided essential support, helping me through it. Over the years, they have assisted me during numerous crises and traumatic events, and I truly do not know where I would be without their care.
SHCS has been an incredible support, and I genuinely value the services I receive. I am fully committed to remaining with this company, and the thought of transitioning to another provider, such as a group home, would be very distressing for me. The support and care I have received from SHCS have made a profound and positive impact on my life.”

Would definitely recommend this service to anyone in need of a disability service. They treat their clients with the utmost respect and their staff are very polite with noticeably advanced skills.”
